Zoom Whitening What to Expect

Dr. Gauthier will first need to do an exam to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy enough for the whitening procedure. If you have not had a dental cleaning in a while, then that will need to be performed first. You will get results if your teeth are clean and free of surface stains and plaque buildup.

You’ll be amazed at how easy the procedure is:

  • Step 1: After a recommended dental cleaning, the mouth and gums are covered leaving only the teeth exposed.
  • Step 2: The proprietary Zoom whitening gel is applied to the teeth
  • Step 3: A special light is used that interacts with the gel, breaking up stains and discoloration. The gel is applied for about three 15 minute sessions for a total of 45 minutes.
  • Step 4: The coverings are removed and you get to leave with a whiter, brighter smile! We will supply a list of certain things you should avoid for the first 2 days to maximize your results.

The effects of Zoom are immediate and with proper care and maintenance, your new smile will always be lighter than it was before. No messy trays were needed and you are done in close to an hour.

Your results will last longer if you maintain proper oral hygiene such as flossing and brushing your teeth at least twice every day. Regular dental checkups are also important to avoid plaque buildup.

You should avoid common lifestyle habits that stain and darken the teeth such as tobacco use/smoking and consuming dark foods and beverages. If you do need a touch up, we offer an at home whitening kit.
