Apex Dental provides modern dentistry with a personal approach. Dr. Gauthier uses leading digital technology to improve and enhance your patient experience. Digital dentistry can offer a less invasive approach to diagnostics and care. The incorporation of digital technology also supports more predictable outcomes for patients.
CBCT 3-D Scanning
We offer in-office CBCT scanning for convenient, comprehensive dental care. Digital 3-D scanning is an important part of treatment planning for complex dental treatments, especially the placement of dental implants. Using this type of digitla imagery, Dr. Gauthier is able to thoroughly evaluate all types of structure and tissues supporting your smile. This technology is often used to evaluate the condition of a damaged smile and to plan the placement of dental implants for the most successful result.
Our digital dental x-rays minimize your exposure to radiation and provide immediate high-resolution imagery for evaluation of your oral health. X-rays are an important part of preventive dental care, enabling our team to identify developing dental problems such as tooth decay.
Digital impressions provide improved accuracy and greater comfort for patients. Using a hand-held wand, we can scan your entire mouth in seconds and use the images in treatment planning for cosmetic and restorative needs.
Dr. Gauthier uses 3-D printing to create models and custom restorations right in our dental office. Models are often created and used in treatment planning to help patients see expected results and to “try on” restorations for ensuring the most comfortable fit. Dr. Gauthier can also use 3-D printing to create a custom dental implant.
CEREC and CEREC InLab
We use CEREC, an in-office milling technology, to create custom dental crowns, inlays, onlays, and dental veneers in one visit. Same-day crowns means no temporary crown and no return visit for the placement of the final restoration. CEREC provides custom results and an exceptional patient experience.
Using the CAD/CAM software, the restoration is digitally prepared and then sent to a milling machine, where the restoration is created using the finest, tooth-colored ceramic material.
In just a few minutes, the restoration is ready and checked for a perfect fit. Then, it is permanently bonded or cemented to your tooth and gently polished to a beautiful shine.
CEREC uses materials that are closely matched to the composition of natural tooth structure. The ceramic materials are strong and tooth-colored to restore teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function.
Surgical Guide Technology
Dr. Gauthier uses 3-D printing to create a surgical guide for use in the placement of dental implants. Surgical guides can vastly improve accuracy, supporting long-term stability and the best possible outcome. The incorporation of this and other technologies allows Dr. Gauthier to offer flapless implants when replacing a single missing tooth. This is a less-invasive, non-surgical treatment option for tooth replacement with an implant.
DIAGNOdent is one of the leading advancements in dental technology. This highly sensitive probe uses fluorescent light analysis to detect tooth decay quickly, easily, and accurately.
By detecting tooth decay early, patients can avoid potentially painful and invasive treatment.
According to a study by PD Dr. Lussi of the University of Bern, the DIAGNOdent has a 90% accuracy rate. That’s over 40% higher than other traditional methods, including X-rays.
Dr. Gauthier is committed to providing his patients with the most comfortable dental experience possible. That is why he and his team are so focused on preventing dental decay and maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
